The department of sociology was introduced in the college in the year 2016 with under graduate programme. The UG course initially was affiliated to the H.N.B. University which was later changed to the Sridev Suman University, Tehri Garhwal. Admissions in the course started with more than 20 enrollments.
The department actively participates in different programmes for the overall development of the students. The students of the sociology department in the recent years have shown enthusiastic response in the “Anti Drug Campaign”, Women’s Day celebration, and other environment awareness programmes. The students have participated in essay competition, speech competition, poster making competitions and many more.
The department of sociology is dedicated to grooming the students in every sphere of life. Since the subject sociology is more of understanding society and human than of learning in class room hence the faculty student relationship focuses on understanding the various perspective and the recent changes of taking place in society by having regular class discussion.
Sociology Literature in the college
There is one combined library of every subject. The books available for the subject sociology are continously reviewed and in updated time and again. Presently the library has books written by prestigeous writer like Yogendra singh, A.R. Desai, B. K. Nagla and many more
