The Department of Political Science is an important academic department of the Government Degree College,Rudraprayag dedicated to providing quality education in the field of Political Science. The department offers undergraduate education with an approved intake capacity of 60 seats.

The department aims to develop students’ understanding of political systems, democratic institutions, constitutional values, public administration, international relations, and contemporary political issues. Through academic learning and discussion, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, analytical ability, and awareness of their rights and responsibilities as responsible citizens.

The Department of Political Science provides only undergraduate-level courses at present and does not have a postgraduate programme. The department remains committed to strengthening academic knowledge and preparing students for higher education, competitive examinations, public service, and various professional opportunities.
